Why take action for the end of year celebrations in solidarity in companies?

While many celebrate the holiday season with family, others face loneliness, cold weather, or financial difficulties.

In France, many people are in a precarious and isolated situation:

• Nearly 300,000 people are currently homeless in France (Inequalities Observatory, 2023). This is twice as much as in 2012. Of these, at least 27,000 are homeless.
• According to the association Little Brothers of the Poor, more than 2 million people over the age of 60 are isolated from family and friends in 2021. This figure has more than doubled in 4 years.
• In France, 9.8 million people live below the poverty line, or 15.4% of the population, according to INSEE

5 actions for solidarity at the end of the year celebrations in business

1. Organize a greeting card writing workshop

5. Carry out activities that promote intergenerational relationships

Strengthening intergenerational ties also means promoting social cohesion and encouraging greater solidarity.

Several solidarity actions make it possible to support young people in precarious situations and isolated seniors:

• Accompany seniors for a trip to the museum or to have a coffee with Paris en Compagnie ;
• Participate in the distribution of food packages for students with associations such as Secours Populous ;
