Bouygues Bâtiment France: Anchoring solidarity commitment in the territories

Bouygues Bâtiment France is the national branch of the Bouygues Construction group specializing in the design, construction and renovation of buildings in all sectors: housing, public facilities, hospitals, offices, industrial infrastructures... Present throughout the country through its regional entities, the company has around 8,000 employees. A committed player in responsible construction, the company integrates environmental, societal and innovation issues into its projects, with particular attention paid to the local impact of its operations and to the quality of life on construction sites.

A field company that engages as close as possible to the territories

At Bouygues Bâtiment France, the desire to act locally is at the heart of its business identity. To translate this commitment into practice, since 2023, the company has been deploying a national program called “WeCare”, which allows each employee to get involved in solidarity actions one day a year during their working time (and with no limit on their personal time).

This program, accessible to nearly 8,000 employees, was designed to meet the specific challenges of each territory. This also makes it possible to ensure coherent overall management. With the support of the Komeet platform, the company is setting up a simple and flexible tool that facilitates the transition to action, especially on construction sites and in regional agencies.

An engagement program structured around 3 strong levers

Global management with local adaptation

  • National coordination of the “WeCare” program led by the Department of Human Resources and Social Commitment
  • Deployment in the pilot phase on three subsidiaries, before generalization at the national level
  • A unique platform to manage the entire program with spaces dedicated to each subsidiary and business unit to relay local needs

Field relays at the heart of the animation

  • Ambassadors identified in subsidiaries to relay information and mobilize teams
  • Human animation that makes it possible to reach all strata: companions, managers, design offices...
  • Key advice provided by the HR team: vary actions, target different audiences, adapt to realities on the ground

Effective and motivating communication

  • Multi-media communication from the start: site signage, internal networks, newsletter
  • Regular sharing of missions carried out and causes supported, which can be duplicated within other territories, during a Societal Commitment Committee
  • A clear and unifying program name: “WeCare”

Feedback

The first advice would be to have ambassadors, relays as close as possible to the field, in order to be able to reach all employees. The second piece of advice would be to propose varied actions with audiences, who are also targeted, so that everyone can find something for themselves and is really involved as an individual. And finally my third piece of advice would be to use the Komeet platform because whether for companies that are starting their engagement project or those that are already very advanced, this was our case in several of our territories, Komeet really helps us to maximize our impact and facilitates the management of all these commitments.
