Commitment at the heart of the mission: KPMG Citizen Engagement is changing scale

Since 2007, KPMG has structured a social commitment program as an “operator” model, directly connected to the needs of beneficiaries. This model implies a high level of involvement in the design of solidarity missions, in close collaboration with partner associations and vocational schools. The company is calling on Komeet to support the ramp-up of this program and its territorial development.

The transition to the status of a company with a mission in 2022 embodies a desire to strengthen social impact with citizen engagement as one of the firm's 5 strategies. The challenge: to consolidate an already mature program while renewing the forms of commitment to onboard new generations of employees and respond to the increasing complexity of societal challenges.

A collective adventure rooted in the company's DNA

An assumed operator model

  • KPMG designs its missions hand in hand with its associations and partner institutions to meet the needs of beneficiaries in a co-constructed and as comprehensive manner as possible.
  • A team of 6 ETPs is dedicated to educational engineering, the coordination of partnerships and the adaptation of formats to the challenges of each territory.
  • Each action is part of a global support process: employees do not only have a one-off action, but contribute to a systemic social transformation.

Structured and measured societal commitment

  • Each employee has 6 days of citizen engagement per year on working time, to be used freely, in line with their skills or personal desires.
  • The impact indicators are set annually, discussed with the mission committee, and challenged in a logic of continuous improvement.
  • The integration of these objectives into the strategic roadmaps of the various businesses testifies to an alignment between societal commitment and performance.

A continuous renewal of the commitment story

  • To avoid running out of steam, KPMG organized internal consultations to capture the desires and needs of employees through votes, surveys, voluntary briefs or even informal discussion times on the Firm's commitments as a Company with a Mission.
  • The transition to the status of a company with a mission in 2022 was a new lever for commitment: by redefining the pillars and the raison d'être of the Firm, the teams rediscovered the role and societal impact of KPMG.
  • Citizen Engagement ensures that the stories of exchanges between the partner associative and educational ecosystem, committed employees and supported beneficiaries are transcribed in an authentic way. Communication campaigns, field testimonies and feedback help to highlight synergies in the service of social innovation.

Feedback

“KPMG Citizen Engagement is mobilizing, alongside a rich associative ecosystem, to address societal challenges. Our programs are offered through a hybrid system, combining skills sponsorship and financial sponsorship. The platform and support offered by Komeet allowed us to develop our action: by activating new levers with partner structures, by supporting our operating model with a communication, monitoring and reporting tool, by clarifying our message to offer other opportunities for engagement to our employees.”
